Prototype Figure This prototype figure of Rand is the same as the production figure, except for the color of the gun. |
| Matchbox
(Japan v.1): This variation seems to be the most common of the Rand figures. It is
the one that most closely resembles the character in the show. If it did
not have a brown neck, it would be accurate. Matchbox (Japan v.2): This version varies from the first, only in the paint job. There are brown areas on the shoulders, the buttons on the chest and buckle on the waist are brown, and the neck is painted a flesh tone. Matchbox (China): This figure is made from a different mold than the other Matchbox figures. The head is thinner, and you can also tell that the neckline is more narrow. The only difference between the paint job of this one and the first Japanese version are the buckles on the waist. This figure also appears to be made of a lower grade plastic. Harmony Gold (China): This figure shares the same body as the Matchbox China version. It is lacking quite a bit of paint detail, however. The blue on the arms does not extend to the elbows, and the buttons and shoulder pads are left unpainted. |
